Driving Results
Defining the Problem
While designing this experience, I identified three key challenges that could impact the success of the project:

Design Process & Decision-Making
Research & User Experience Planning
To create an experience that truly resonates with users, I began by studying museum engagement trends and interactive storytelling techniques. I explored how gamification, sensory immersion, and personalization could enhance cultural learning.
With these insights, I outlined a clear, step-by-step user journey, ensuring:
• An intuitive flow from tea set selection → interactive learning → personalized results
• Smooth transitions between interactions to prevent cognitive overload
• A cohesive narrative that connects users with the essence of the tea ceremony
After initial wireframing and testing, I shifted focus to what mattered most—creating an immersive visual and interactive experience.
Theme & Aesthetic Approach
My goal was to make the experience feel as immersive and engaging as the tea ceremony itself. Every design choice focused on storytelling, usability, and interaction.
• The four-season theme creates a natural flow, while smooth animations and transitions make navigation seamless.
• Mini-games encourage hands-on learning, allowing users to explore tea culture interactively, while the tea set selection adds a personalized touch.
• The selfie interaction and test results make the experience more engaging and encourage deeper exploration.
• With subtle hover effects and responsive animations, every interaction feels intuitive, creating a visually rich, user-friendly experience that makes learning about tea culture enjoyable.
From Installation to Mobile
The selfie interaction and personal test results was the one of the highlight of the project, using the results to create a customized experience that enhances players' personal connection to the game, making it feel more relevant.
This test not only provides valuable feedback on gameplay but also helps players identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Furthermore, it motivates them to replay the game to explore new combinations and experiences.

Takeaways
More than visually appealing
This project reinforced a crucial UX principle: engagement goes beyond aesthetics, it’s about designing meaningful interactions. Initially, I was excited to incorporate my illustrations into the experience, but I soon realized that designing for interactive touchscreens requires a different mindset. Simple visuals aren’t enough; every interaction must be purposeful, intuitive, and educational.
By blending creativity with usability, I learned how to balance engaging storytelling with functional design, ensuring that users don’t just see a beautiful experience but actively connect with it.
#A successful UX design isn’t just about looking good, it’s about making people feel, explore, and learn effortlessly.
